Use Case: Combat Pistol Program
Customer:
USMC Weapons training battalion
Digital scoring for the CPP
DATA ANALYSIS AND DIGITAL REPORTS
OBJECTIVE:
Scoring Tech was tasked with providing a software solution to score the new Combat Pistol Program (CPP) for the Weapons Training Battalion. The CPP is run throughout the Marine Corps and is required annually for all Officers, staff NCO's, and certain military specialty occupations.
OVERVIEW:
Scoring Tech was also tasked with providing a solution for leadership to view reports on each CPP that is run.
To score the CPP, Scoring Tech developed a custom digital score sheet inside the the Joint Marksmanship Assessment Package (JMAP) app. The JMAP app allows Marine instructors to capture shot times, target images, and notes for each Marine who shoots the CPP. Marines are also able to digitally sign their scorecard in JMAP after they view their final score.
IMPLEMENTATION:
Scoring Tech also developed custom reports and comparison models in Insights, the JMAP companion app, for Marine Corps leadership to use.
JMAP kits (consisting of scoring devices and supporting hardware) were successfully deployed to USMC ranges across the country that run the CPP on a regular basis. Marines new to JMAP now regularly score the CPP with very little instruction required.
OUTCOME:
Additionally, Marine Corps leadership uses the Insights app to get an in depth view of CPP performance for groups and individuals. This information empowers them to make objective decisions regarding future training.
