Use Case: Annual Rifle Qualification
Customer:
USMC Weapons training battalion
LArge-scale simultaneous qual scoring
OBJECTIVE:
Data analysis and digital reports
Scoring Tech was tasked by the Weapons Training Battalion to provide a software solution to score the new Annual Rifle Qualification (ARQ). Every active-duty Marine, including Marines in non-combat roles, is now required to shoot the ARQ.
OVERVIEW:
To score the ARQ, Scoring Tech developed a custom digital score sheet inside the the Joint Marksmanship Assessment Package (JMAP) app. The JMAP app allows Marine instructors to capture scores, target images, and notes for each Marine who shoots the ARQ. Marines are also able to digitally sign their scorecard in JMAP after they view their final score. This system is scalable to support hundreds of Marines a day.
IMPLEMENTATION:
JMAP kits (consisting of scoring devices and supporting hardware) were successfully deployed to USMC ranges across the country. Marines are now able to run Annual Rifle Quals with very little setup, no paper, no math, and no spreadsheets required. This allows WTB to run hundreds of Marines through the ARQ a day with very little administrative work and no paperwork.
Additionally, USMC leadership can use JMAP to view performance reports immediately after each qual is finished.
